Ian is passionate about public and third sector services and dedicated to helping organisations make better use of technology.
He founded Digital Gaps to help organisations take advantage of the digital expertise of small businesses. He believes technology can make public sector services more personalised, accessible and effective for the people that use them and make the organisations more productive and efficient.
Ian is a transformation professional with PRINCE2, MSP, CPPM, DSDM qualifications. He spent 15 years working for Sefton Council’s IT department before embarking on transformation programmes for the 15 years with NWeGG (now iNetwork), esd-toolkit (now LGInform), LeGSB (now iStandUK), Government Connect (now PSN), NPIP, Circles of Need, the Key, Spark and as a director for the Society of IT Management (Socitm). More recently, he has focused on product management, agile development, user experience (UX) design and use of open data.
Ian’s strengths are in understanding challenges and working out solutions for people using process and technology.
A family man and a Christian, he enjoys sport and volunteers in his local community offering advocacy support.
